The NBOME provides regular updates on NBOME products and initiatives to state medical and osteopathic boards. On March 7, Executive Vice President and Chief Assessment Officer Gretta A. Gross, DO, MEd, and General Counsel Doug Murray, Esq. met with the New York State Board for Medicine at their headquarters in New York City. On March 12, Murray and President and CEO John R. Gimpel, DO, MEd, presented virtually to the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners. Gross also presented to the Administrators in Medicine and Federation of State Medical Boards Licensing Specialist Program on March 18.

These presentations covered planned updates to the COMLEX-USA examination series, information on the COMVEX examination, and updates on the Core Competency Capstone for DOs (C3DO) pilot. Feedback from the boards on both the COMLEX-USA exam changes and C3DO was positive; in particular, representatives from both state boards noted that, in their view, the assessment of clinical skills remains necessary to be assessed.

Future meetings with state boards in California, Florida, Texas, and North Carolina are scheduled for 2025.
