Match 2025 Timeline – Important Dates

Timeline

The 2025 residency match season has begun! The 2024 cycle culminated with another record-breaking year for DO seniors, and the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) reports that DO senior active applicants secured PGY-1 positions at a rate of 98.5 percent following the Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program (SOAP) in 2024.

These amazing achievements demonstrate the success of DO applicants in the NRMP Main Residency Match, as well as the success of advocacy outreach efforts to the GME community.

For those DO seniors and graduates who plan to participate in the 2025 match cycle, we have compiled this comprehensive application service and match service timeline.

2025 MAIN MATCH

June 5, 2024, 9:00am ET | MyERAS® applicant registration is open

The 2025 Match cycle brings new changes to the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS®) such as:

  1. New fee structure where the initial 1-30 applications cost $11 each and subsequent or additional applications over 31 cost $30 each.
  2. Expansion of fee assistance to include residency applicants previously approved for fee discounts during the medical school application process.
  3. Program signaling has expanded allowing applicants to show special interest with the use of a signal.
  4. Thalamus interview scheduling will be available for interview scheduling and management in web-based and mobile formats using Android or Apple platforms. Applicants registering for MyERAS will automatically have ThalamusGME accounts created. Applicants not using MyERAS will receive a system generated email from ThalamusGME providing a unique token for creating an account after a residency program sends an invitation to interview.

Register for and create your profile and master residency application in the MyERAS portal. Your master application is designed to streamline the residency application process. Contact your designated dean’s office for your one-time access code to start the registration process.

ERAS has created pre-recorded applicant webinars to provide you with a better understanding of how to successfully navigate MyERAS.
